IMPORTANT
You may send applications to several Societies but receive only one travel grant.
As soon as you have completed your application, an e-mail will be sent to the person that you designated to send a recommendation letter for you. This person will then submit the electronic recommendation letter. Please make sure that you have received his/her consent beforehand, that the e-mail address is correct and that you apply early enough to leave time for this person to send the recommendation letter electronically before the deadline.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
FENS / IBRO WERC
- The candidate is a PhD student or young postdoctoral fellow and should be below the age of 35 on July 1, 2010
- The candidate is registered at the FENS Forum 2010 and has submitted an abstract as 1st author.
IBRO CEERC
- The candidate should be below the age of 35 on July 1, 2010
- The candidate is registered at the FENS Forum 2010 and has submitted an abstract as 1st author.
- The candidate is currently employed in a country of the Central and Eastern Europe region (see the list of countries).

STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE
Access
Connect to the FENS Forum website. Click on Travel grants, then on either FENS, IBRO WERC or IBRO CEERC. A new page appears; you will have to enter your registration number and confidential code. Then click on "Apply".
Note: you can apply only if you have already registered and submitted an abstract. Your abstract will be automatically available to reviewers.
You are required to go through the 4 steps of the application form. The form will be saved by clicking on Save at the last step.
Step 1
Personal information
Personal information is already provided in your registration form. You only have to provide your birth date.
Recommendation letter
A recommendation letter from your Department Head or supervisor is required. It must be submitted electronically before the deadline of February 1, 2010 (included).
Include his/her name, first name and e-mail. FENS will contact this person by e-mail to send the recommendation letter. Please check carefully the e-mail address.
FENS cannot be held responsible for incorrect e-mail addresses and will NOT consider any application without this recommendation.

CV
Include university degrees and professional position(s) (1500 characters maximum). Scientific information must be provided on Step 3. Information concerning hobbies and personal skills are not required.

Scientific activity
State briefly your main field of research interests and describe the main results of your scientific activity (1500 characters maximum).
Do not copy or repeat your abstract here. It will be sent automatically to the reviewers with your application.
If you have no publication, you can insert here your participation in meetings (poster and oral communications).

Step 4
Publications
Only publications indexed in Medline may be given.
To retrieve your publications:
Type in your name followed by a space and the initials of your first and middle names (ex. Smith J or Smith JL) then click on "Go". A list of publications from Medline appears including authors, title and PMID number. Select and copy this number, then go back to the application form and paste it in the required field; click on “add” (see example below). Switch between Medline and the application form to repeat the procedure and to add new references.
Note: you cannot insert more than five publications. If you have more than five publications, select the most significant ones.
Ex.
To remove a publication, click on the checkbox preceding the reference then click on “update”.
Once you have checked that all the information provided is correct, click on Save. A confirmation appears on the screen.
Do not forget to print it.
Final step
You must click on Continue to validate your application and to send the request for recommendation.
You should receive a confirmation of your application by e-mail within 24h. If you do not receive it, please check your e-mail address (see Registration editing).
You will receive another e-mail informing you of the reception of the recommendation letter.
