YOU ARE NOT A FENS MEMBER?
Why not join one of the European neuroscience societies affiliated to FENS and get all FENS benefits as a double bonus?

To register at reduced membership rate to the FENS Forum 2010, please apply for membership to one of the neuroscience societies well in advance before registering to the Forum. This guarantees that your name shows up in the FENS membership database.

Please note that when registering at the Forum, the membership will be checked immediately in the FENS membership directory. In case you are not listed in the directory, a warning message will be sent to you requesting you to check the matter with your society.

1. How can I become a member of FENS?

FENS is a federation of societies and does not have individual members. To be a member of FENS, you must join a society affiliated to FENS. For a complete list of neuroscience societies affiliated to FENS, see above or look at the FENS website

2. I just received an e-mail "Problem with FENS membership". Why?

There may be several reasons:
- You are a member of a European neuroscience society: Make sure that your name, first name and e-mail address are the same in your registration at the FENS Forum and in your society's directory. If your name contains national characters (such as accents), check that you use the same spelling. If needed, contact your society to update your data as soon as possible. FENS membership directory is updated regularly. You can check that this is done by looking at

- You are not yet a member of a European neuroscience society or you have not (yet) renewed your subscription: Please apply for membership to the society or renew your subscription as soon as possible. FENS membership directory is updated regularly. You can check that this is done by looking at:

Please note that if you are not a member of one of FENS Societies at the time of the Forum, you will have to pay the full fee when registering on-site. In case of problem, bring with you a valid certificate of membership from your society to the Forum registration desk.
- You are not a member and do not wish to be a member of a society affiliated to FENS. Please correct your registration in order to register as non-member. Please note that if you are not a member of one of FENS Societies at the time of the Forum, you will have to pay the full fee when registering on-site. In case of problem, bring with you a valid certificate of membership from your society to the Forum registration desk.

3. Is there a directory of all FENS members from all societies?

Yes. Most neuroscience societies affiliated to FENS update the FENS directory with their membership regularly. Please connect to http://www.fens.org/md/search.php to look up your name.

4. I have a query about my membership. Where shall I send it?

To your society only. FENS never handles membership queries and will not forward them to other societies.

5. I cannot find my name in the FENS membership directory, although I am a member. Why?

There may be several reasons:
- FENS membership directory is regularly updated by FENS member societies. If you are a new member of your society, the update may be still pending.
- If you have been a member for a long time, please make sure that you have renewed your subscription to your society.
- A few societies do not update the FENS membership directory. You can check this by connecting to http://www.fens.org/md/search.php, and look at the list of societies in the search panel.
In all cases, please contact your society.

6. Can I benefit from a reduced rate at the FENS Forum if my name is not in the FENS membership directory?

- If you are member of a European neuroscience society and your name is not in the directory, bring with you a valid certificate of membership from your society to the Forum registration desk.
- If you are not a member of a neuroscience society affiliated to FENS, you will have to pay full fee.
